About

learning blogger
I like the philosophy behind this sign I walk past every time I head upstairs in my house. Reminds me how to attack the challenges life poses.

So I have been teaching now for the past 15 years, including my time as a trainee, and over that time I have been a teacher of Physical Education, English, German and Personal well-being (PSHE to the majority of the country). I have been a pastoral Assistant Head of Year, a University Lecturer and am currently a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and Assistant Headteacher. Outside of the Educational environment I am the head National Coach for British Gymnastics Great Britain Double Mini Trampoline team. I am a coach education tutor teaching coaches to coach. As a teacher I have had many conversations with parents and children and have found myself giving the same advice to many. I thought, therefore, that it would be a good idea to start a blog and share some of the experiences I have had, the advice I have given and the successes achieved. I hope throughout the coming weeks and months someone finds use in some of the advice I give and I encourage you to interact and ask questions related to topics I post. If you have any questions, whilst I can’t promise to know the answers, it may be that I can sign post you to other sources or find answers from the large network of professionals I am linked with. Happy reading!!
